New to BJJ?
Starting something new is uncomfortable. Here are the answers to the questions everyone asks before their first class.
Do I need to be in shape first?
No. You get in shape by training. Every class is all-levels, and you will go at your own pace from day one.
Will I get hurt?
Jiu-Jitsu is built around controlled sparring. You tap, your partner stops. Beginners are protected, and the culture here prioritizes safety.
What do I wear?
Athletic clothes are fine for your first class. We also have loaner gis available for trial students. No special gear needed to try it out.
What if I have no idea what I'm doing?
That is what the first class is for. You will be paired with experienced students who will walk you through everything.
