Adults BJJ (All Levels)
Beginners train alongside experienced students in every class. Techniques taught progressively, nobody thrown in over their head.
Everyone Trains Together
There is no separate beginner class at Panza Jiu-Jitsu — and that is by design. White belts train alongside blue, purple, and brown belts in every session. Techniques are taught progressively so that newer students build a foundation while experienced practitioners refine details.
Nobody is thrown in over their head. Drilling partners are paired thoughtfully, and Coach Panza gives individual attention during every class. Training alongside higher belts accelerates your learning — you absorb timing, pressure, and positioning that only comes from live experience.

A Typical Class
Warm-Up
Movement drills that build coordination and prepare your body for training. No running laps — every warm-up movement has a jiu-jitsu application.
Technique Demonstration
Coach Panza demonstrates the day's technique sequence, breaking down the mechanics so every student can follow regardless of experience level.
Drilling
You practice the technique with a partner at your own pace. This is where the details sink in — repetition builds muscle memory.
Specific Training
Live training from specific positions related to the day's lesson. Controlled intensity, focused objectives.
Open Rolling
Free sparring. We encourage beginners to try it — you will be matched with an experienced partner who keeps things controlled and safe.

How Often Should You Train?
Two to three times per week is the sweet spot for beginners. That gives your body time to recover while building consistent habits. As you adapt, you can increase frequency. Many of our regular students train four to five days a week.
What You Need
A gi (the traditional uniform) is required for this class. We have loaner gis available for trial students, or athletic clothes are fine for your first session. The academy can help you get your own gi once you decide to continue. Prefer training without a gi? Check out our no-gi program.
Belt Progression
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu follows a belt system: white, blue, purple, brown, and black. Stripes are awarded at each belt level to mark progress. Coach Panza evaluates readiness based on technique, consistency, and mat time — there are no fixed timelines or tests to pass. Promotions happen when they are earned.
When Do You Start Rolling?
We encourage beginners to try rolling from day one — you will be matched with an experienced partner who keeps things controlled and safe. Full-speed rolling comes when you are ready, and that timeline is different for everyone.
